NCLW is working on the economic empowerment of women program through the issuance of a loan entitled "Najah"Success to help women benefit from small loans through banks "micro-credits".
In rural villages in Lebanon, NCLW had offered loans through Women empowerment project WEPASS.
The National Campaign to amend provisions in social and economic legislation has also been launched.

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Women in Lebanon find difficulties in accessing banks, and getting laons, Women in Lebanon are discriminated against in some social and economic legislation (such as social security law, labor law, ...) ; Women need to be trained and get information about how to establish their own work.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Women through the women empowerment project such as WEPASS or Najah or the National Campaign to amend provisions in social and economic legislation that discriminates against women: can be trained through capacity building, get small loans, know their rights, and benefit from experts advises to successed in their new initiative.
Impact: How does it Work

Many women were able to establish their own small companies after the help and training received by the Women Empowerment Project: Peaceful Action for security and stability (WEPASS). NCLW has published with the help of UNFPA a booklet compiling the successful stories of the women in rural areas who benefited from the program. (reference: www.nclw.org.lb)

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

NCLW through its WEPASS program helped more than 50 women to establish and stay in Business. The women targeted were from remote areas, (South Lebanon and the Bekass valley). For the Najah Loan program, NCLW helped more than 25 women benefit from a bank loan to establish their new initiatives. as for women benefiting from the National Campaign "Wayn Baadna", all lebanese women are targeted by the amendment of discriminatory legislations. https://www.facebook.com/LebaneseNationalCampaignForWomenRightsWaynBadna
