About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

It has become almost impossible to do good without having to sacrifice quality or cut something out of your routine entirely. For example, all to often I hear "I'm giving up coffee for the month so I can go on this mission trip".

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Provide exceptional quality coffee at an affordable price that allows subscribers to have a tangible and scalable impact. A premium coffee subscription that helps provide clean drinking water with each subscription.

Accepted/invited into: CED Venture Mentoring Service, LaunchLab Growth Series, Idea Fest by Launch Place, and the FedEx Small Business Grant Contest.
Impact: How does it Work

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

By partnering with and contributing 15% of our proceeds to charity: water, we expect to help provide a lifetime of clean drinking water to over 1,500 people each year. When you take a good look at all the challenges facing the global poor, one thing stands out. There’s one basic human need that, when met, sparks prosperity and productivity faster than any other single fix: access to clean, safe water. Clean water can prevent unnecessary deaths, save time, and improve health. It enables people to be energetic members of society and to escape the cycle of poverty.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

- Co-promotion and co-branding with partners - Influencer and celebrity activation - Public and exclusive events, contests, and meet-ups - Coffee festivals, World Water Day, and trade show events - Digital marketing--seo, website, social media, paid ads, etc--and Press coverage

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

We have developed a pipeline of B2B relationships to help ensure financial sustainability regardless of future grants, seed investments, or e-commerce sales.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

We stand out from our competitors in five distinct ways: 1) Our cause marketing and social good aspect, 2) The quality of our product, 3) The offering of specialty goods that enhance the overall user experience, 4) Our expert team, board, and advisors, and 5) Our extensive network of brand partners. Not only are we providing a solution, we believe we are providing the only and the best solution to the problem in this market.

Founding Story

Our story centers our passion, purpose, and profit... and it all started when I was hanging out at a coffeeshop in Atlanta. Overhearing my neighboring table’s conversation, I was alarmed to hear, “yea, after this week I’m cutting out coffee so I can go on this mission trip”. It was like an allergic reaction in my ears. Why do you have to cut out coffee? And, doesn’t that give doing good a bad name? That is all it took. The next six months were filled with brainstorming, interviewing, researching, and lots of coffee. Founded out of an intense desire to help others and be a catalyst for good, I launched Just Cause Coffee and the journey has been awesome! We do things differently. We are serious about coffee but crazy about helping others.
