Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

The demand for cool drinks and beverages can be high season due to climate change. Climate change is affecting Liberian due to the lot subsistence farming that goes on here. We want to build an entity to produce ice blocks to cool beverage and use the proceed to do reforestation on used farmland

WHAT IF - Inspiration: Write one sentence that describes a way that your project dares to ask, "WHAT IF?"

This project tends to mitigate climate change in Liberia.
About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Deforestation is problem that this project is trying to address in Liberia. Many of the trees are cut down to be used or sold as fuel (sometimes in the form of charcoal) or timber, while cleared land is used as pasture for livestock, plantations of commodities and settlements in Liberia.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

The proposed solution to the problem is to do reforestation. We want to used the fund generated to hire an Umbrella organization in Liberia that is solely responsible to plant rubbers in Liberia called the Rubber Planter Association of Liberia( RPAL) to provide bud rubbers to farmers. The entity will also be responsible to train farmers to maintain the planted rubber. When these rubber trees get mature in seven years time, the farmers will no longer be encouraged to make subsistence farming anymore. They will chose to manage the farm and get quick cash instead of taking months to do farming. And the rubber trees will provide more carbon to mitigate climate change.

Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

This solution tends to make the following impact on lives of the ordinary Liberian: 1. it will provide job for the rural people who are only surviving by making farms, hunting and fishing 2.The first seven years to come we will have more farmers focusing on rubber production instead of clearing forest to make farm or killing animals for food 3. We intend to run this program as long as we are we can base on profit generation, we want to plant 10,000 rubber trees every year in Liberia. 4. The rubber trees will serve as carbon pool and carbon sink 5. And on the overall we intend to mitigate climate change.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

Our impact is to make Liberia green from space, to reduce carbon emission and we also hope to reduce poverty. These trees crops will serve as a main stream to strengthen the financial capability of the ordinary Liberian.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

Our desired impact is to make Liberia green from space, to reduce carbon emission and we also hope to reduce poverty. These trees crops will serve as a main stream to strengthen the financial capability of the ordinary Liberian.

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

The funds that will be generated every years from the sales of Ice blocks will be used to sustain this project.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

In Liberia precisely Margibi, there is no one that is engaged in this venture. During the dry season, the demand for ice blocks can be very had to handle. We want to build a Factory that will produce more than five ton of ice blocks per day.

Founding Story

There is a country in West Africa called Liberia and s it is a very hot zones in Africa. It is a post conflict country that damaged all of its infrastructure. Currently, Liberia is not covered with electricity, pipes borne water and Health Care. Many of its inhabitant live beyond the poverty lines. It dense forest is gradually washing away because of subsistence farming and illegal logging activities. Due to it hot climatic condition during the try season and lack of Electricity, the quest for cool water, beverages, preservation can be very high. We want to establish an ice block factory to produce ice in Margibi County and use the profit to do reforestation by planting trees crops.
