Free tablet magazines. Ria medicine is a project whose mission is the formation of a health culture in the countries of the CIS. Also psychological help to people with cardiovascular diseases, breast cancer and diabetes around the world who speak Russian. Magazine is the embodiment of easy understanding of medicine.

About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

Absence of a culture of health among the population of the CIS countries. Also low-income residents of different countries are afraid to get sick and hear diagnoses. Expensiveness of treatment and ignorance of many details to support health is the main problem that we see. By dint of SaharOk magazine we help to teach people not being afraid to hear the diagnosis of diabetes. Perceive it not as a disease but as a special mode of life. We help diabetics to understand that they were not deprived of a full life! And in the magazine Domashniy cardilog (Home Cardiologist) we put a similar task in working with people suffering from cardiovascular diseases. Journal "Amazon" aims to support women with breast cancer.

We create free tablet - magazines which tell about all updates in the treatment, give advice on the maintenance of health. Doctors (as volunteers) write articles about methods of self-diagnosis and warning signs when you need to apply to a professional. In collaboration with different organizations we hold contests for readers. As present we give equipment of medical purpose, healthy foods, books and other. Also we work with readers in social networks. Their questions and life stories we publish in the special edition category. Also support actions to protect the environment. In a special section we support the campaign to collecting of used batteries for recycling.

It often happens that diabetics during hypoglycemia may be admitted by mistake for drunks on the street. In such manifestations of diabetes out of ignorance surrounding people are scared or do not react in any way at all. Diabetics themselves are embarrassed to tell friends about their problems. We met a guy and He has told us that many diabetics do not feel self sufficient people. They are afraid of the properties of their organism, and the surrounding do not understand them often. It was when the were no one specialized Russian-language editions. For Information you needed to look at expensive general medical journals or internet forums. So the idea of the first free magazine with a profile of diabetes occurred.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

Constantly using social media marketing we attract readers' attention to the journals. Also in 2014 we planned the participation in specific diabetics congress of Nizhny Novgorod, and participation in the scientific and medical conferences in Ukraine, Russia and Israel. Participation in such activities can attract new readers as we derive new information and learn about new researches. Also to expand the geography cooperation with European clinics for direct referring patients to treatment.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

This problem is often is addressed to charitable foundations, community organizations and government agencies. For example, in Ukraine there are Ukrainian Diabetes Federation and The International Diabetes Association of Ukraine. Ukrainian Diabetes Federation also deals with issues European football championship for people with diabetes called DiaEuro.


Now on the creation of three journals work: editor of Saharok magazine, and an editor of Amazons and Domashniy Cardiolog magazines, journalist and translator, SMM administrator, 2 managers for external relations and designer. Editors create content that is checked by medical volunteers. We also have doctors who voluntarily write articles for the magazines, and there is also a section for communication with readers. SMM administrator provides constant involvement of readers, also responds to questions from the audience and forwards messages with the stories to editors. External Relations Manager is engaged in attracting companies for branding columns, work with clinics, takes a trips to the forums, festivals and charitable events.
