We want to create a connection between third sector and business companies through volunteering of business workers in NGOs. Our goal is to increase the value of volunteer experiences through personal experience (business workers). At the same time will create a space in the NGO as a space for human development.

About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

The problem is lack of awareness about volunteering by companies as a way of developing skills. Companies don’t accept those experiences like job experiences. It’s necessary to show HR manager, recruiters the big potential of people with volunteer experiences. The value of volunteer experience is as important as work experience. The problem is basically a lack of real experiences of representatives from the business world within the third sector. We need to create available space for the emergence of such experiences. We want to fix it!

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Way that we would like to help solve the problem of lack of seriousness volunteer experiences lies primarily in the personal experiences of business workers.They will be able to know the position of individual organizations, which often take volunteers,but their job description regards the position as important as the company.At the same time partnership NGO´s with a company that is focused on company´s staff development it will be time for them perceived as a time of development and also for organization as a beneficial time.Therefore,we think that our idea to look at volunteering as a path to development and acquisition of skills through personal experience of representatives of companies in the non-profit sector is absolutely innovative.

Imagine! After 3 years like HR manager or employee generally you spend 3 months like trainee/volunteer in NGO, you can apply all your knowledge, but there is still something new what is unexpected for you. During this time you meet a lot of people from different NGO, people with different social environment, you enjoy organisation team, even you prepare events for so many kinds of people. And in the end? You will have a new point of view on everything. Volunteer experience in NGO can change the value of volunteer experiences, corporate culture and PERSONALITY! Real experience of everything is the best. AND! Experienced employee can show his employer all his strengths and it can be the start of career advancement.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

For post - communist countries is very typical that work without salary is still something unusual. We are sure our project can bring the change of thinking about volunteering. That’s not all. Our project can make better relationships between business companies and NGOs. We are sure our project is applicable in all countries. It´s very important to start making our society more focused on doing good. We hope it´s the best way how to develop our slovak society and human believe in good. Number of volunteers is constantly increasing and we believe it will continue. When volunteers feel that their experience is valuable, volunteering can become part of their everyday life. We want to make volunteering the way of life.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

Every NGO can help to develop positive point of view on volunteering. Companies also can build partnerships with NGO. BUT! They don’t do it. NGOs are more active in propagation their activities and companies are focused on their business. We would like to make new place for development of social society. Idea to make a connection between companies and NGOs like the way of development not only employees but all society it is in Slovakia something new.


Our biggest role is to prepare NGOs for new volunteers/ trainees. We need to create a systematic plan to involve volunteers for all positions where volunteers can be helpful. Also, we need to make marketing strategy for this project, because it’s worth it. The role of company MotivP is evaluation of the time spent in an organization, making feedback for workers and employers after time in NGO. Mr. Hronik can help us with psychological point of view on volunteering like a way of human development.
