When jobs become harder to find especially in former war zone, people find it easier to start something from on their own at their own places. However most of their hard work is absorbed by third-party.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

Sri Lanka is famous for its handicrafts. There is a traffic for Sri Lankan handicrafts both in the local and international market. The marketing firms are deserving the maximum benefits since the manufacturers are standing on the throne. Therefore Craftlanka would be a turning point of their life. The major portion of the profit will be provided to the craftsmen. Since craft Lanka is not 100% business oriented company. We purchase and value the handicrafts for a satisfactory amount. We'll support and motivate the underprivileged community by Money and advanced resources in their field.

We have not got any awards till now since we are planning to initiate it in May 2016.

We've just registered our company so far we have 1200 views in social media which motivate us to promote and Keep up our activities. We have the contact details and list of those craftsmen and really needy cottage industrialists... they're anticipating our arrivals and to start up the project since they strongly believe which about to indeed enchant their livelihood and we believe this would be a revolution of their entire community This project successfully will be implemented on May 2016. Definitely would be a turning point of the poverty stricken community especially the war victims of Sri Lanka. It provides more job opportunities and remove hunger from their entire history.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date? Also describe the projected future impact for the coming years.

By 2030 we could get down the number of poverty stricken community in Sri Lanka. There would be a good traffic for Lankan handicrafts. The products will be supplied and market whole over the world. There would be a sustainable income for the underprivileged cottage industrialists. We no longer use the word underprivileged in Sri Lanka. Craft Lanka kills all the problems and difficulties in one bullet. Whereas no hunger, no poverty, no employment problems, no pollution. Inherited talents of those victims going to shine the world definitely it gets the attention of the world in 10 years of time.

Spread Strategies: Moving forward, what are the main strategies for scaling impact?

Sri Lanka has abundant of traditional arts and crafts. These goods are manufactured using age-old techniques , tools and natural indigenous, waste materials. The craftsmen's dedicated contribution increase the bank balance of the marketing companies... unfortunately these innocent creatures children are starving without food wearing rag clothes, no shoes , no bags to school. Our craft Lanka's project going to change the mindset of the people who are psychologically affected due to the war . It would be a development of financial and mental.
Sustainability

Financial Sustainability Plan: What is this solution’s plan to ensure financial sustainability?

Since we are in the initiative part of the plan we can't expect a big profit. Therefore Most of the profit from the investment will be added further to the development process. Once the products are sold payment will be done to the employee. Annually there would be a development in the process and there would be a gradual improvement in the process of craftLanka as well as the life of the manufacturers.

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

There are popular firms selling handicrafts whereas "Laksala" in high cost and some companies exporting too. However craft Lanka completely differs from those businesses oriented companies. Since we consider more about the underprivileged community and their livelihood. It would get the attention of the world definitely since it would be a turning point of the Sri Lankan war victims.

Founding Story

As i struggled in my early ages and knw the pain of hunger and now interested in helping others in their livelihood needs I went in search of really needy people and investigate about their livelihood all across the Sri Lanka. On that respect I found out after the armed conflict most of the paddy lands are barren so the cultivation process going down day by day and people are mentally and physically affected . Moreover they are involving in manufacturing there traditional handicrafts. And people are complaining about their hardship and challenges in manufacturing the crafts. So i planned to make a platform where they can sell their crafts for more profit.
