Project Summary
Elevator Pitch

Concise Summary: Help us pitch this solution! Provide an explanation within 3-4 short sentences.

We implemented technologies in Monterrey & peripheral populations that have decreased costs in green walls, for more than 60% Cost. These technologies help to drop up to 5* C, improving air and helping to decrease greenhouse gases. Also promotes social sustainability in marginal sectors

About Project

Problem: What problem is this project trying to address?

-Population is growing up quickly, there is more than 4, 089 962 of population (INEGI 2010) in Monterrey Metropolitan City, -Automobile’s increasing up to 1, 600,000 of units in (Government of the State of NL 2012). Increasing the greenhouse gases in the city. – Monterrey city was 18th most polluted city in the world (WHO 2011). -Extremes weather of the region.

Solution: What is the proposed solution? Please be specific!

It is important to promote the improvement of urban green spaces "integrated approach to the planting, care and management of all vegetation in a city to ensure multiple social and environmental benefits for urban residents". Through vertical installation covered by plants of various species grown in a special structure called vertical garden or green wall.
Impact: How does it Work

Example: Walk us through a specific example(s) of how this solution makes a difference; include its primary activities.

Oswald was worry about the risk of greenhouses gases, because of the pollution in the city, finding out realized that warm and unreasonable energy consumption, were increasing greenhouses gases, looking ways to reduce them on the market, find the green walls structures. But, green wall in the market were really expenses $230 USD per m2 ((Nuevo Leon’s College of Architects). While average payment is $588 USD per month in Monterrey city. Looking in the market more deeply find young entrepreneurs(Green Building Constructions), offering options with 65% low cost compared with the market, because they use recycle materials and organic waste to make compost.
Sustainability

Marketplace: Who else is addressing the problem outlined here? How does the proposed project differ from these approaches?

We are offering two types of G-Walls: - Prefabricated G-Wall, fast installation with the structure design by Green Building Construction which reduce 65% cost compared with actual market with plant grown. - G- Wall structured, we provide the wall structure installed, and train to the user to make compost, using organic waste for plants. Also provide seeds reducing 80% cost.

Your Solution
Founding Story: Share a story about the “Aha!” moment that led you to get started and/or to see the potential for this to succeed.

The Project started with a common problem in the region (high temperatures as 40° C during summer in Monterrey city), looking for a solution, we found that Northeast of Mexico ( Coahuila, Nuevo Leon & Tamaulipas), as study base for application of sustainable technologies, this region belong to classification of dry weather, which get more airflows, fewer clouds and less precipitation of 300-600 mm per year (versus 3,000 mm of other regions of the country), making the region of extreme temperatures . therefore a sustainable technology applicable in this region will be replicated to the other regions.

Select Sector(s): To which of Unilever's categories of sustainability does your solution apply?

Greenhouse Gases.

Measurable Impact
Audience: Who have you identified as your customers/recipients and why? How will you get your solution to them or engage them in your initiative?

Our population served are the householders (between 25 and 60 years old) that represent the largest population in our city. The 88% of the Nuevo Leon's populations are living in Monterrey metropolitan area (formed by nine cities: Monterrey, San Pedro Garza García, Santa Catarina, Guadalupe, San Nicolás de los Garza, Apodaca, General Escobedo & Juárez).
The peripheral populations are the most marginal sectors thats is our reasons to work here. Specific in the Huinala area at Apocada and Escobedo.

Impact: What is the impact of the work to date and expected impact in the future?

Today for each Green wall that we install we impact directly to 3.8 habitant. and indirectly to 7 persons. Actually we are impact more than one hundred habitants. Giving them better air to breathe, reducing their electrical energy consumption. And reducing the greenhouse gases.

Growth, Finance & Leadership
Scaling the Solution: How do you intend to scale your activities over the next two years (e.g., reach new markets, diversify solutions, etc.)? What will make this possible?

We found that Northeast of Mexico ( Coahuila, Nuevo Leon & Tamaulipas), as study base for application of sustainable technologies, this region belong to classification of dry weather, which get more airflows, fewer clouds and less precipitation of 300-600 mm per year (versus 3,000 mm of other regions of the country), making the region of extreme temperatures . therefore a sustainable technology applicable in this region will be easily replicated to the other regions.

We think in make also green roofs in the future, for make stronger our impact and present another solution to reduce the greenhouse gases.

Financial Sustainability: What is your business model to ensure financial sustainability?

We use the Canvas model for our entrepreneurship.

Experience: Please provide examples of any previous entrepreneurial initiatives you have pioneered.
